As a wedding photographer in Gloucestershire, I get to travel around my beautiful county photographing many different wedding venues, fields and… well… more fields (I spend a lot of time in marquees in my Dubarry’s!)

So when I get to throw the Dubarry’s in the back of my truck and exchange them for a pretty pair of shoes (although I hold my Dubarry’s only in the highest regards — best boots in the world!) I get pretty excited.

Over the course of the year I have found myself being welcomed to the grounds of Eastington Park, near Stonehouse Gloucestershire. As I find my way down their sweeping, tree lined drive, up to the stunning house I can’t help but be in awe of it’s majestic feel.

As you enter the front foyer, the high ceilings and white walls with that amazing sweeping staircase, I just have to pinch myself to remind me that I live in England now and get to photograph lovely weddings in beautiful venues (yes England holds a “Kings and Queens” kind of charm for me!!! Hey! I’m Canadian and I love being here!)

Whether you are holding your ceremony indoors or outdoors, both areas of the grounds offer the most intimate feel to the day. I love watching the bride come gliding down the aisle; whether it is from the top of the walled garden to the pergola or from the double doors to the front of the room where her groom is waiting for her, each has a magical feeling.

I think the best part for me as a wedding photographer is knowing that the couple have exclusive use of the property. Now you may wonder why that matters… well exclusivity means that I can happily walk around photographing all the people that are on the grounds and not worry that they are not wedding party guests. Yup, it happens. It can be really embarrassing if there are couples there that don’t belong to your wedding party and they gently let me know they are not with the wedding… well I don’t have that problem at Eastington Park.

The staff at Eastington are lovely. The food which is catered by Berry Blue is stunning (I have happily sampled it and can say its hands down some of the best).

So let the party begin!

So, this is my way of just trying to share with you some of the many venues that I have had the honour to photograph weddings at. I feel like I have one of those jobs that Oprah did a show on: “Best jobs in the World” … well that’s my job!

I get to visit beautiful venues, hang out with beautiful people and watch happy couples get married! What more could I ask for!!?
