I wear my heart on my sleeve. I love to make people happy when I photograph their wedding, and the thought of people being pleased is what drives me on a day to day basis.
So when I woke up this morning to receive this post wedding email, I couldn’t help but think to myself “yup! I definitely LOVE my job”.
I didn’t meet Tom and Laura as a wedding photographer, rather I met them whilst I was photographing Christmas mini’s for children… but they don’t have a child… but they do have the most beautiful Dalmatian called Buttons.
I feel like I’m dancing my way into the weekend as I’ve just finished editing three weddings and I only have one more waiting for me before I jet off to Turkey for a family vacation.
As a wedding photographer in the Cotswolds, I get to visit some amazing barns and The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury is stunning. The grounds are impeccable and there’s a hidden garden around every bend. Inside the barn, my favourite spot is its double balcony, you can really encapsulate the full effect whilst couples are on the dance floor. A great place to party!
With the joy of the party surrounding you it’s a venue you can’t get wrong!
Every day you meet people that cross your path. It may be a small smile, or thank you, please or just a simple hello that generates a nobody into a somebody special. I was really lucky to meet Bex through my sister in law and on the day I met Bex for the first time, I felt like I had known her for yonks. Her spirit is tenacious and it is so easy to see how Tom and Bex become Mr and Mrs.
As a wedding photographer, I get to see lots of different ideas come together based on a couple’s likes and hobbies, and this wedding really hit close to home. My idea of a marquee in a field, with horses, loads of flowers and true party animal guests is right up my alley.
Bex and Tom put all their loves in life into a pot and with a magic wand (and friends to help) magically created the most spectacular wedding day. The tiniest detail went into making this wedding perfect.
I started at the beautiful little church where I was greeted by the most glorious entrance way. Tom had created for Bex a stunning horseshoe arch which was lovingly decorated with wild flowers and roses to welcome the newly weds and their guests. The best part is you could detach it and move it to the marquee. (I think we will see Tom’s idea go viral all over Pinterest very soon.)
I believe the true moment of the day was the surprise entrance of Bex’s beloved horse. She was desperate to have her horse at the wedding and didn’t think it was possible. But Tom and some friends tidied up her beauty and as it made its’ entrance Bex was lost for words (well done Tom -brownie points to you!)
The day continued to get better and better with a live band, a crazy surprise Father/Daughter dance, and of course let’s not forget the best man’s speech(es), or Bex’s dad’s… or the cake smash…. or the bouncy castle… Darn there is too much to remember!
BEX AND TOM!
It was an honour to spend the day with you two and meet your beautiful family and friends. Thank you for letting me capture your love and special day. I wish you all the best and hope these pictures share light on your beautiful day.
All week it was beautiful, warm and sunny, but on Saturday morning, the weather changed. Clearly the gods knew a Glastonbury festival was due to happen… wedding style.
It may have been the wettest day of the week, but that did not dampen the spirits of Will and Aimee. A wedding planned to perfection; every detail you could possibly think of was taken care of. From the bespoke gifts for the groomsmen to the carefully designed sunflowers and maize dancing around the marquee as if they were embracing it in an all mighty bright sunny hug.
