Alice and Alex.
I can only describe them as: fun, imaginative, lovely, kind, happy, true old souls, super awesome amazingness that is a new husband and wife team (and yes I like the word amazingness even if I have made it up).

My wedding photography journey with these two has been one heck of a ride. An engagement session like no other (check it out here – we even had Great Danes posing!) and a wedding like no other, which took place at the beautiful Silk Mill, Frome, Somerset.
It was a most glorious day for a Somerset wedding, and I met Alex and his groomsmen and his super cool dad (coolest dad out there I think!) at his parent’s house in Yate. With the sausages and baps hot off the stove, I dove into my very own (thanks dad!) and then got to work!
The guys were totally chilled out and loving the fact that today it was all about Alex,  He couldn’t have chosen a more unique group of men to stand beside him on his wedding day. They definitely brought the word F-U-N to this wedding.
Alex wore a beautiful suit from Ted Baker with a black bow tie (swoon!)
Once the guys hit the road to Frome, Somerset I ventured over to see the ladies. Alice and Alex have the sweetest house and it was all PERFECTLY (yes perfectly) laid out for me to photograph. This is a rare thing, as I didn’t have to move ANYTHING as Alice is the designer and stylist of Wilmot and Daughter, so she styled the room for me (thank you!!)
With the mood boards guiding the hair and make up artists, I quickly got to work capturing the magic that unfolded. Once the girls were ready, the camper van arrived and we set out on our journey to the Silk Mill. The sun was so bright this day, and I can only remember driving along and bopping to HEART music, thinking “this is the BEST wedding day ever!” It just was perfect in so many ways.
As I am not a local wedding photographer in Somerset, I embraced the opportunity to create new and inspiring wedding photography at this truly fabulous wedding venue. With the Silk Mill’s white washed walls, Alice came walking down the aisle to the vintage song “My Girl'” with Alice’s vintage bunting dancing from the beams above her and Dad Hagues over in the front row dancing and snapping his fingers, with a big smile on his face, watching his boy greet his soon to be new wife.
With tears in his eyes and a smile radiating on his face, he watched Alice glide towards him and together they became Mr and Mrs Hagues.
Alice, Alex and I went up into Frome town centre to get some portrait photographs of just the two of them. We found some cool side streets and even when we were doing one photograph where local photographers like to go, and the lady from the bakery popped her head out to say “congratulations”.
We created a number of different styled portraits based on the light and areas. Frome has so many different styles to it, that it only made sense to photograph a few different styles with Mr and Mrs Hagues!
The afternoon quickly went and with the speeches and cream teas completed, the evening guests began to arrive. The Fish and Chip van came and with the mobile bar in full swing, it was all go for the night. The best part was seeing the security on the gates so this venue stayed exclusive to Alice and Alex.
One more area to cover – THE CAKE TABLE
What can I say. I LOVE CAKE. So when the wedding cake table was transformed it went from an old trolley to a table filled with a crazy amount of happiness!!! Cakes, pies, brownies, puddings, you name it, it was there!!! With each dessert designed with or named for a special memory or person, there was just so much yumminess on that table, it was IMPOSSIBLE to choose just one dessert…. Heaven…. pure heaven.
Alice and Alex – you rock. Thanks for making this wedding photographers adventure truly remarkable. It has been a pleasure and honour not only photographing your wedding but becoming friends along the way. I wish you the best in your future together and may you live a life of happy, creative and wonderful moments as a couple.
Warmly,
Alicia
